Updates regarding the impact of COVID-19 in Salem City will be first posted here.

Salem City Operations

Salem City offices remain open to the public; however, we strongly encourage residents to take advantage of online resources rather than come into the office. Below are some common online resources that residents need:

Please call before coming to our office. Many questions can be answered and don't require face to face contact. If you do need to come in, we will be conducting business through the window at the South-West entrance only.

Cancellations and Closures

Salem City will suspend all Recreation programs and Senior Center programming for the next two weeks and will re-evaluate at a later date.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Salem Rec office at 801-423-1035. See also the Rec Office web page or their Facebook page for daily challenges and virtual activities.

Salem City Police

The Salem City Police Department strives to continue serving our citizens in the most professional, proficient and timely manner possible.  We want ensure best practices while protecting the health and safety of all citizens and staff during the current COVID-19 pandemic. The front foyer of the police department is currently open.  When possible however, we are asking citizens to avoid face to face contact with our officers and staff by contacting us via telephone or cell phone.

Senior Shopping Hours

Local grocery and club stores are implementing special hours for individuals over 60. The following are the special hours by store:

Stokes: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 7 to 9:00 a.m.

Costco: Tuesday & Thursday from 8 to 9:00 a.m.

Walmart: Tuesday from 6 to 7:00 a.m.

Macey’s: Daily from 8 to 9:00 a.m.

South Utah Valley Animal Shelter
As the COVID-19 concerns affect Utah County, the South Utah Valley Animal Shelter is taking cautionary steps to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, public and the pets in our care. 
The Animal Shelter will be CLOSED to the public and will be limited to appointments only. If you are missing an animal please contact them at 801-851-4080 for assistance.
