The Salem City Office will be closed on Monday, February 15, 2016 for President's Day.  Garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, February 16th as usual.

RESIDENTS: Salem City needs your help. Please clean out the gutters in front of your property so the debris does not clog up the storm drains.  If you have a storm drain grate in front of your house, please make sure there is no debris covering it.  Thank you for your help with this matter.

Also, if you have a fire hydrant by your house, please help keep the snow away from it.  The house you save could be your own!

For his Eagle Project, Coby Goudy is organizing a system in which people in the community can bring donations of sports equipment and clothing of any kind that is in good condition.  They can leave donations or exchange them for a different size.  This will help families who have to buy new equipment every year because their athlete has outgrown it and it is still in good condition.  This will be an ongoing program in conjunction with Salem City Recreation.  We have built a cabinet at the Recreation Office where donations can be brought or exchanges made during regular business hours.

Reminder: The winter parking ordinance went into effect on November 1st.  There is no parking on the street from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to accommodate snow removal.  This is enforced whether or not it is snowing.
