Salem is located approximately 60 miles south of Salt Lake City, 15 miles south of Provo, and 3 miles south of Spanish Fork on Utah State Road 198 (Historic Highway 6). Salem was founded in 1851 and now has a population of about 5,000.
Salem City has prepared the update to the General Plan Map. A public hearing will be held on Sept 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the council chambers at the city office.
BEACH IS STILL OPEN: Testing of the water indicates it is unsafe for swimming, deep wading, and ingesting due to bacterial contamination. Fish at Salem Pond are safe to eat. Wash hands after handling the fish and lake water to reduce your risk.
